Womanhood is an identity, sexiness is a choice
My design inspiration comes from an article about the relationship between sexy lingerie and women's self-identity. What is sexy, and what does it mean to be a woman? I want to quote a line I read in the article: 'Womanhood is an identity, sexiness is a choice. When someone can reclaim their feminine qualities, find their emotions, imagination, and vitality in such a twisted and alienated society, they are sexy. When someone can confront her feminine identity and fully accept her body, she is sexy.' Womanhood as an identity has both external social value and points inward to a desire to feel, to a sense of self. Foucault once mentioned that the self is sometimes produced through external tools. Here, erotic lingerie is such a tool. Why do we experience the self? Because the self is the source of our uniqueness, efficacy, and self-esteem.

The lace and transparent materials of sexy lingerie, this kind of exquisite garment, are not suited for everyday commute and sports, thus are marked for use at special times. Due to the uniqueness of jewellery materials, they can be worn every day. I hope it will make women feel their own sexiness and affirm their self, just like sexy lingerie does.

A woman wearing sexy lingerie is showcasing her love, desire, and self-identity; at that moment, she is in control. Speaking of sexiness and control, it's not hard to associate with eroticism and Nawashi. The intertwining of ropes with the human body, along with the changes and poses of the model’s limbs, create a visual beauty and a tactile language. The feeling of being bound makes some feel the presence of their body and the connection to the self, makes some feel the same internal and external pain and healing, and allows people to fearlessly show their vulnerability. Binding and wrapping also become the visual and tactile experiences I want to express in my design.

Fishnet stockings, representing an extreme uselessness to express the thorough yet seemingly transparent visual beauty and sexual tension, inspired me to use them in my design. The wrapping and enveloping sensation of the fishnets also combines well with Nawashi.
