Garden Twig
I am a twig enthusiast. So when I stumbled upon this twig in my back garden, naturally I was immediately enamoured by it - the leaves were completely dried out and curled inwards. It seemed perfectly preserved, a moment captured in time before the leaves unfurled and fell away.
I sketched out my lovely twig and the lines of the image inspired me to transfer into a print - so, I etched my image onto an acetate plate, inked it up, and transferred it onto a sheet of paper. I experimented a little bit with plate tone, deciding it offered as organic quality that complimented the subject matter.
