Caught Your Death
Caught Your Death is a photographic portrait project exploring the effect of one's environment on their body and appearance. These photographs were taken immediately after the subjects had plunged themselves into the harsh icy depths of the Irish sea in the heart of Winter. The purpose of the project was to portray the intense bodily reaction to such a brutal environment. To investigate how an environment can take control over the subject's ability to express their identity; to strip the subject of their ego or selfhood, leaving only the instinctual response of the environment printed on their face. To embody the conditions in a physical form.
