This was chosen as the winter landscape project. Fruit trees often blossom very early in the year and this was one of Vincents last paintings painted in February 1892. I chose to make this painting and used primed hardboard to emulate the grain of the canvas. You may notice that I have painted part of (particularly the background) in quite flat paint but used the paint more thickly in others. This was part of the learning process and where the background (in Vincents) is painted with the same attention as the subject
